I paint familiar natural places over time. Meadows, hedgerows and overlooked plants become a way of exploring how memory, seasons and sustained looking change what we see.
I build my paintings through layers of paint, drawing and mixed media, allowing earlier marks, colours and moments to remain within the surface. Rather than describing a particular landscape, I am interested in evoking the experience of being in a place, and what remains with us when we leave it.
