January Cyclamen 012
White cyclamen is a favourite of mine I’ve painted them many times over the years. This series emphasises the bird like quality I find in the flowers. The background is reminiscent of the irregular age worn walls of Spain.
The perfect mix of scent and colour one of my favourite spring flowers. I particularly like the blue ones that become more purple as they open.
This is a 10x10 inch (25.5 x25.5 cms) mixed media painting on a cradled wooden panel. The materials used include acrylic paint, ink, pastel and metal leaf. The surface of the painting is protected by 3 coats of varnish and finished with a layer of polished wax for a lovey soft sheen.
